Acceptance of These Terms

TekTones is a browser-based music production studio. By accessing or using it you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is handled.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use TekTones. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

Your Account

• Signing in is optional. Without an account you can use the studio locally, but cloud features are unavailable.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account, and for keeping access to your linked sign-in provider secure.
• You may not impersonate others, share your account credentials, or use another person's account without permission.

Your Content and Ownership

You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service — storing, transmitting, and reproducing your content so it can be saved to your library, loaded back onto your devices, and exported at your request.

Content You Publish to the Community

Publishing a session to the community library is entirely optional. When you do, you grant other users a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to view, load, play, modify, and build upon that shared session within TekTones. This is what allows other producers to open your patch and remix or learn from it.

You can unpublish a shared session at any time, which removes it from the library. Copies that others have already loaded or downloaded cannot be recalled.

Rights in Material You Upload

You are responsible for the material you bring into TekTones. By importing or publishing audio you confirm that you own it or otherwise have the rights to use it, including any samples, loops, vocals, or recordings of other people's work. Do not upload copyrighted material you are not licensed to use.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload or share unlawful, infringing, hateful, or abusive material.
• Attempt to breach, probe, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
• Use automated means to bulk-download the community library or scrape user data.
• Reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the service itself as your own product.
• Circumvent storage limits, access controls, or account restrictions.

Our Intellectual Property

The TekTones name, interface, audio engine, factory presets, and bundled sample content remain the property of their respective owners. These terms grant you a personal, revocable license to use the service — not ownership of it. Audio you produce using the factory presets and bundled samples is yours to use in your own music, including commercially.

Service Availability

TekTones is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features may change, and the service may be unavailable during maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Browser audio behaviour also varies between browsers and devices, so we cannot guarantee identical results everywhere.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost projects, or lost data arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Hearing Safety

TekTones can produce loud output, including sudden level changes from resonance, distortion, and feedback. Set safe monitoring levels before playing and take care with headphones. You are responsible for protecting your hearing and equipment.

Termination

You may stop using TekTones at any time and request deletion of your account. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, or if required for security or legal reasons. Sections covering ownership, disclaimers, and liability survive termination.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted within the application. Continuing to use TekTones after a change means you accept the updated terms.
